ELKHORN, Wis. (AP) — A jury has convicted a man of poisoning his wife with antifreeze and then suffocating her.
A jury has found Mark Jensen guilty of first-degree murder in the 1998 death of 40-year-old Julie Jensen. She left a note blaming him if she turned up dead.
Prosecutors say Jensen searched the Internet for information on antifreeze, gave his wife sleeping pills and made her drink juice spiked with the toxic chemical.
Authorities say when her health appeared to improve, he pushed her face in a pillow and suffocated her.
The defense had claimed she committed suicide and framed her husband.
Jensen faces a maximum penalty of life in prison without parole.
